Hommel, Claudia: Claudia Hommel in Cabaret and Concerts

Description: Let actor-singer Claudia Hommel transport your audience to Paris for a song! Claudia loves libraries and library patrons love her. Parisian by birth, Claudia celebrates the city of Paris in a variety of cabaret concerts including "Souvenirs of Paris, 1950," "April in Paris" and "Paris in the Jazz Age." With piano, accordion, or small jazz ensemble, our performances are suitable for social rooms, theatres, and gala fundraisers. Your audience will be shouting "encore" and heading for the shelves of travel guides.

▪ Order up some “Espresso” –4 of Chicago’s favorite cabaret performers create customized brews of American and international song (in rotation with KT McCammond, Elizabeth Doyle, Bob Moreen, George Howe and John Eskola).
▪ "The Jazz Fauré Project" features the 19th century art songs of Gabriel Fauré swinging with jazz quartet!
▪ Claudia's recordings on the Maison Clobert label are suitable for library audio collections as well. 

Availability: Year round 

Audience: All ages 

Fees: $400-800 for singer and pianist or singer and accordionist (mimes and can-can dancers are extra!) $800-2,000 for multiple musicians and singers. Public libraries are eligible for significant fee support from the Illinois Arts Council’s Arts Tour program. 

Equipment: Tuned piano (unless engaging singer/accordion duo). Libraries without in-house music amplification can ask for our Bose personalized amp system.
