Lynn, Paddy: Paddy Lynn Storyacting


Description: “Lights, Camera, Action!” Using books as mini-plays, Paddy creates a highly creative and energetically interactive presentation she calls, “Storyacting”. With over 25 years of experience in performing, Paddy uses a few props, costumes, and a variety of visual effects to make stories jump off the page and into the hearts of her audience. Preschoolers through elementary age children eagerly participate, and everyone gets involved. COLOR MY WORLD, Storyacting makes reading fun!

Other: Additional storytelling programs include: CHILLERS- year round thrilling and spine tingling tales, KALEIDOSCOPE – intriguing stories from different cultures, PEACE PIPE TALES- inspiring Native American legends, LETTERS FROM THE OREGON TRAIL – a trek westward using audience participation, MEET EMILY DICKINSON – A one- woman show recounting the beloved poet’s personal story and poetry, MEET HARRIET BEECHER STOWE- the life story of the famous author of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Paddy also has a variety of Storytelling and Drama Workshops for all ages.

Availability: Year-round

Audience: Preschool through Adult

Fees: Average $300 but always negotiable. Funding available through The Illinois Arts Council

Equipment: Paddy will provide her own sound system when necessary

Credits: Illinois Storytelling Festival, Ozark Cultural Center, Arkansas, WTTW- Thirty Good Minutes, Arlington Park Racetrack, Cuneo Museum and Gardens, Brookfield Zoo, Lincoln Park Zoo, Carthage College, hundreds of schools and libraries across the Midwest.
