Description - David HB Drake is the real thing – a folksinger with a lifetime of singing for folks everywhere a handcrafted song is needed. He has toured the Midwest for the past 25 years presenting a wide variety of educational and entertaining programs for all ages. David performs for schools, libraries, and the whole community playing a variety of instruments including guitar, handmade banjo, dulcimer, concertina, and Native American flute.

AN AMERICAN SONGBAG: Sing along with songs that America grew up singing from "Yankee Doodle" to "This Land is Your Land."

HEARTLAND: The history of Illinois is presented with songs, stories, handmade instruments, and over 120 historic and scenic slides illustrating the songs! “Sing-along” slides assist the audience with the words. Songs of Native Americans, pioneers, farmers, trains, rivers, Lincoln and Sandburg grace the show. This program is ideal for state history studies and events and is designed with curriculum guidelines in mind.

THE ILLUSTRATED SONG: Many popular folk songs have been illustrated as children’s books. The pages of these artfully done books projected as sing-along slides while David sings the original songs with the audience.

KIDSTUFF: A sing-along hootenanny for kids featuring some of America’s favorite folk songs.

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD: Every day is Earth Day with recycled songs that teach kids to live together with respect for themselves, each other, and our world.

GATHER THE FAMILY: An evening concert of peace, love, and hope for the future is for all generations where families take to time the share a song.

Audience - General (all ages kids through elders)

Fees - Negotiable; discounts for multiple bookings at several libraries on the same or adjacent days.
